Our History
In November 1978, a small group from Crossfield Baptist Church in Crossfield, AB began meeting regularily in Airdrie, AB for worship services and then organized as a local Baptist church under the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist of Canada. The first Sunday service was held on June 3, 1979 and the first sermon was preached by one of the senior men.
In 1986, a building committee was created and in February 1987, an architect was chosen and a sign was erected at 1009 East Lake Blvd ... "Grace Baptist Church, Building in '86, A Caring Church in Your Community (presently meeting in C.E. Building, 204 - 1 Ave. NE)".
Airdrie Grace Baptist Church was incorporated in February 1988 and on September 26, 1988, a dedication service was held for the newly completed building at our current location.
Over the years, the church building has been added on to and renovated. Today, our congregation, of approximately 300 meets in two services on Sunday mornings and throughout the week serving the community of Airdrie.
