Here at Grace, we desire that everything we do is an offering of worship to God because expressing gratitude for what God has done for us is a life-long and eternal reality. We were also made to express this corporately, a collective group of believers who together declare the wonders of our God and thank Him for all that He has done. One way by which we do this is through the arts. Through music, drama, tech arts, image, photography and filmography we make famous the works of God and we deeply embed such things in our souls.
Grace Airdrie Church Worship Arts Ministry holds to these 5 foundations in order to move forward effectively (based in John 4:23, Colossians 3:16 and Psalm 33:3)
SPIRIT: We surrender our lives to the Holy Spirit. He must have full reign in everything that we do, in both preparation and execution.
TRUTH: We strive to leverage the arts that the Word of God might richly dwell within everyone.
ENGAGE: We desire to see everyone, young and old taking part in our corporate worship times; that their hearts are engaged and challenged; and that we are artistically relevant to the surrounding culture that the message of Jesus Christ might be effectively shared.
NEW: We intend to respectfully lead new songs, new arrangements, new perspective, and new projects in order that the child of God never loses sight of the newness of life that God has given by his lavishing grace.
SKILL: We commit to develop our skill with humility and call upon the skilled to serve on our teams. The more the God-created potential is tapped in us as we worship, the more the wonders of our God are experienced and the less we get in the way.
